We don't think our humidifier is working. There is no water coming out of the drain!! What could be wrong? My husband is extremely handy except he won't touch it until he knows something about it. Can anyone help us out?
Thanks,

If your humidistat is located on the duct work, turn it all the way on and off and listen for the click of the water solenoid valve located on the bottom of the 550. If you hear the solenoid clicking in and out, check the water supply to the valve, the valve filter screen(located in valve housing at water inlet), and check the water metering device(located in the end of the tube that comes from valve outlet).
If you do not hear the valve clicking, you've got a control/wiring problem.

The humidstat is upstairs beside our thermostat...It should still work if one of us turns it and the other is downstairs listening-correct?
