Hi all! I purchased an unfinished table last year and decided not to put a finish on it. Now I would like to paint it or put a finish on it. How would I go about doing that? It has some stains from everyday use. Please bear woth me this is my first do it myself project. Thanks :)

Scrub it down with dish suds and a stiff brush. Rinse off the soapy water, and wipe dry. Let stand for 48 hours so it can dry completely.

Go to your paint store and ask for their suggestions.

I owuld use a good primer, such as BIN or KILZ, sand lightly, then a durable enamel finish. Id doesn't have to be oil base. A good exterior house paint will work well, and they're available in any color you care to have mixed.
