I am using my old bedroom set for my daughters room. The furniture needs to be spruced up however...I don't know where to start. I want to repaint it white. How do you do that? Strip? Sand? Do you have to sand? What kind of paint do I use?

Hollie:

If you don't strip, you MUST sand. ALl you need is to scuff up the original finish enough for your efforts to adhere.

Follow (after cleaning the sanding dust) with a good primer - I have used and like Fresh Start (Benjamin Moore), as well as BIN and KILZ.

Follow with a good enamel. I prefer oil base, but many of the latex enamels are quite good.
