I have a Reznor F130 unit heater built in 1990. I took your suggestion to tested the fan switch. When the elements heat up the fan begins to cycle. I jumped the wires going to a switch marked FAN that is spring loaded and touching one heating element. The fan ran ok when I jumped the wires.
Have I found my problem? If so is there somewhere on the web I can search for a Reznor dealer in my area (Detroit)? I looked in the Yellow pages and found nothing.
Would most local parts suppliers carry parts for Reznor?

Thank You,

Al

Hello: Al

If the fan activates properly without humping the switch, as you indicated in your posting, your quote: "When the elements heat up the fan begins to cycle." why would you need to replace it?

In your posting you then state "The fan ran ok when I jumped the wires." I'm slightly confused here...

Regardless, the fan switch can still be obtained through almost any retail heating supply store that sells parts to service agents and contractors. Local appliance parts stores should also be able to order the part throught their suppliers also.

Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes and solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair proceedures and instructions, pictorials and schematics, which may be available online.

I should not have used the word cycle. The fan would only run for a few seconds then shut off. I replaced the switch and it is working fine.

Thank you for your help

Hello: Al

Not to be concerned about the mis-useage of a word.
Although it could alter the meaning slightly.

However, I too made an error in my orginal reply.

I mispelled a word.... and hours later noticed it...:(

I used "Humping" the switch instead of "Jumping" the switch....
:D

Totally accidential of course...:)

Hey....The two keys on the keyboard are close to each other...LOL!.....:D
