I have a Rheem heat pump 12 years old. The fan unit blows all the time, even while the system is on off. Of course there is no off switch for the fan, only auto and on, and it is on auto.

Hello Lilly and Welcome to the Heating and Cooling Appliance forum and our Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

Turn off the main electrical power supply, remove the stuck fan switch, take it to your local retail heating parts supply dealer and replce it. be sure to also write down the units make, model and serial number and take that info also.

If there was a recent thermostat replacement, it could be incorrect wire connections there. If so, recheck those corrections.

I do not claim to have expertise on all types of heating systems and units. Nor can I claim to have expertise in the service, repair and or installation methods and procedures of all types of heating systems.

Therefore, the other heating and cooling professionals, replying within this forum, may have alternate suggestions, advice, opinions, and or a better understanding of the circumstances and or conditions, based upon the nature of the request contained within your question.

You may have a stuck fan relay or control wiring from t'stat to blower relay. Is this a split or package heat pump system?
