I used zip strip to remove Red paint from an old bookcase and it left a red pigment stain in the wood. I have sanded over the stains and they will not come out. What can I do now to get the "red out"? It is a light colored wood. I don't think it is pine because there are no knots.

Corleen:

The wood may be spruce fir, which is ismilar to pine but has less grain. It's absorbs stain readily (as you alread know) and as such, it's difficult to clean.

I would suggest a two=part bleach - look for it by that description - brand name doesn't matter. It should be available fomr your local paint store or home center.
