Please help!!! how do you determine how far gone a peice of vaneer furniture is before you undergo the task of redoing it? And what are the repair procedures for this? I need help I saw a peice at a thrift store and have seen it in an antique shop redone but don't want to invest in it if it is not something I don't think I can do. I like the piece but just don't want to ruin it? Help please reply

Due ot space (and time) constraints, I avoid detailing entire procedures on somethins like working veneer. There are too many variables to be covered in the space.
BUT:
Here are a couple of web sites that offer instructional booklets (for sale) on the techniques and material involved in repairing veneer. They off the materials you'll need as well, if you decide to go ahead with the project.
http://www.constantines.com
http://vandykes.com
Both sites offer catalogs free for the asking.
