Can't find my previous post....so I'll try again. I am renovating a bathroom. Some questions: Should I use concrete board or Hardibacker around the bath/ shower area? Should I mix myself or use a premix to put up the tile and lay the floor. (The floor is concrete.) Any advice would be welcomed!

A concrete underlayment is recommended beneath tile in shower areas. Go to www.doityourself.com/ceramic for helpful info.

Definately a concrete underlayment is the way to go. Its a little more time consuming but its the right way to go. Assuming you have a one story. Hardiback is usually used for second story baths. I sold flooring for 5years and saw many a do-it yourselfer project that I had to fix for them. Cool beans
