i'm getting ready to mount some cabinets to a cinderblock wall in our basement. what i'm wondering is what is the BEST way to bolt these to the wall?? i know there are concrete screws, plastic anchors, metal anchors, etc . . . but which is the best and most SECURE way to do this?? i've used the plastic anchors for other things, and they were fine, but i'm not sure they've got enough holding strength for the cabinets -- they're about 30 lbs or so. THANKS!!!

Toggle bolts into the open areas of the block will work

if you're talking about the spring-clips that open when you push them through a large hole (sorry, not great with the terminology here!), i'd rather not do that. problem is, this is a foundation wall, and i want to keep the holes as small as possible, and also seal them as much as possible. we've had some leaking issues around this area in the basement, so i'd just like to keep as much of the cinderblocks as possible. please let me know if i'm not getting what you're saying . . . thanks!!

Don't forget you'll be anchoring into cinderblock. If the blocks at your home are standard block they are probably hollow, which gives you about one inch of actuall block before your bit comes out the other side.

I agree with Gary.
Use toggle bolts (aka buttefly bolts) with the spring-loaded clips.
You can squirt a bit of silicone caulk in the holes before setting the cabinets and tightening them in, just for grins.
Good luck!

Why not attach a nailing/screwing board using lag bolts and shields into the mortar joints (don't drill into the block!)... then you can have some leveling room and fudge factor hanging the cabinets.
Just another idea for consideration.

really appreciate all the responses, but i went ahead with the concrete bolts. i'll tell ya, those things REALLY grabbed, so i'm pretty happy . . . well, as long as they stay up there!! THANKS AGAIN!!!!
