Hi-
Rob's wife here. We think we can do a soffit duct for our bath vent, but the 4" round vent that matches the fan duct size required will be tough. We barely have 4 inches of width on the soffit to work with, so it will be squished and won't connect nicely with the duct. Is it ok to use a 3" vent with a 4 to 3 inch converter or is 3 inches too small?

Thanks!
Hilary

using a reducer and a 3" vent will decrease the air flow of the fan--you need to consult with heating guy to be sure the fan/vent combo you use will move sufficient air to clear a bath your size.

or there are fans with 3" ductwork...if it is big enough for yur bath.

once you have a powerful enough fan, you can go out the soffit and it will do a fine job.....
