We are about to replace our bathtub and tile wall with a jet tub and a surround wall. Is it ok to cut a hole in the surround wall for the window? My next question is what is the best way to seal it since we will not be using tile? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I cut a window in a surround about 10 years ago and could not keep paint on the window sill or trim. The wooden trim had to be replaced about every three years due to moisture.Then......last summer I installed a new jet tub with new surround and covered over the window. I don't miss having the window at all, but I sure do miss all the upkeep on the old window.
