Hello,

I had a few different questions about flooring. I have a 1920's home. The hardwood floors appear to be in good condition; they are stained, but don't appear to have a protective finish (? wax) and appear somewhat dull (? from wax build up?). What is the best way to manage this and maintain the floors?

Also, in one of the rooms, there is a discoloration of the floor with the outline of a carpet that was previuosly there. What are the options for correcting this?

Also, in the attic, there are rafters but no flooring and I was considering putting some flooring down in order to make walking around easier. Do the floors need to be removable to access the insulation/ sheet rock of the ceiling below? If so, what would be the best materials and fastening system to use?

Thanks.
