We have to replace our old bathtub. How do we measure so we get the correct size bathtub? Do we measure from wall to wall where the bathtub will be replaced or do we need to allow any extra space. It measures 58" from wall to wall, but a plumber told us to look at 60" replacements.

Thanks for any help.

The other 2" should be the part you can't see where the tub meets the walls, usually covered by tile or whatever. 60" would be standard tub length.
