My light colored linoleum floor has discolored - yellowed - in high traffic areas coming into the house from the driveway. I am being told it is due to people carying in oils from the sealer on the asphalt driveway. Any coments or suggestins orn how to remove the discolloration will be appreciated.

Yellowing and discoloration of vinyl due to asphalt tracking tends to be impossible to remove. A chemical reaction has taken place. Stripping, sealing, and waxing the floor may make the discoloration less noticeable. Using products that the professionals use from the local janitorial supply tend to be more effective than those bought at your local stores. Some vinyl manufacturers offer products with a warranty against asphalt tracking.
