Hi - I have a 50's ranch style that has a small connected living room, dining room to hallway that I am painting a very buttery soft yet intense yellow. I have an accent wall that is an oriental red. It is very elegant.
My question is: Do I paint the now flat white ceilings the same buttery yellow. They are low ceilings, and I thought somewhere that I heard to paint same color as walls lifts them - OR is it just too much in the smaller home.
Whatcha think?

Personal observation; at one time my parents had ceiling color same as walls (light yellow, coincidentally) in living room. It looks 200% better now with white ceiling (they are 8').

I cannot picture what buttery soft yet intense yellow is. No matter. White ceilings are a standard in modern homes, because they add height to a room. I have an oler home with 10 ft ceilings and they are off color to bring them down
