For $2.00 SF or less, you might find a dealer who has "rustic" or "cabin" grade prefinished hardwood flooring. This type of product has no warranty. You will get mostly short pieces, knot holes, mineral stains, worm holes, and defects. You may have to figure as much as 20% extra for waste. If you are looking for unfinished wood, you will again find that you are getting the same type of quality but no finish (additional cost to you for applying). You will have to do some calling around to talk with flooring dealers to see if they know of a source in your area.
