My question tonight has to do with painting interior doors. I am looking for advice on whether or not we should take them off of the hinges or just paint them hanging. Also, they are just plain luan doors, so we were wondering what type of paint to use. We want them white.:)
THANKS!

Good morning, are the doors painted or new, if new are they already primed or bare?

If the doors are not going to be sprayed then just leave them hanging and take off the door knobs. If you are afraid of getting paint on the hinges then tape them off, you can put the tape on quikly, overlapping the hinges and cut the tape around with a razor knife and remove excess, still try to cut in around the hinges, the tape is just for "just in case", this will help to keep paint from bleeding under the tape.

Paint the edges of the door first, then the outside with the door closed on an object such as a paint can to keep from getting paint on the trim, open door and paint the other side.

Don't apply latex straight onto existing oil based paint.
