Yes. I just finished a couch job this afternoon and have another scheduled for early next week. Use an alkyd oil primer and a latex semi-gloss top coat. What colors were you thinking? Watch for dark leather bleeding through any light shades. The latex will move with the leather when you sit down. While you sit there and look and your freshly painted couch you may begin to wonder why you didn't paint it years ago..

I have changed the color of marine vinyl seats, vinyl dashboards in cars, car seats but never leather, or a couch. This is a specialty job and requires the skill of a craftsman, definately not for the DIYer.

If you are serious about this, check your local automotive paint suplier, they have the vinyl dye I used, maybe they have something for leather, may be the same stuff, but like I said, do not try to apply this yourself.

I can't wait to hear how this project turns out....didn't even know you could change the color of vinyl or leather. Good luck...
