We are removing a tub/shower and replacing it with a steam shower (no tub). The area is 30 x 60 inches with walls on 3 sides.
Just a few questions:
1.We want to tile the entire shower area rather than use a ready-made base and therefore need to install a pan. We received info about a product called ONELINER by Dix Systems. Do you have any opinions about this product?(e-mail:www.dixsystems.com)

2.The present shower/tub has a drain at the far end. Can we keep the drain in this area or must we relocate it to the center necessitating moving the plumbing somewhat?

3.We have this idea to make the shower one that we step down into (no curb or threshhold to step over). Is this idea doable? We plan to notch the beams in the basement and reinforce them in order to allow for the appropriate space for the pan.

4. We have already finished one bathroom from gutting to turning on the tap...including installation of whirlpool tub. We work carefully. Do you think doing the pan installation ourselves is a dumb idea?

Thanks for you help! eileen D.
