Painting - Paint/Carpet color help needed

I am trying to decide what color walls and carpet to go with in my living room. Currently I have beige carpet with beige walls but it seems so dull and drab. I would like to brighten up the room with new paint as well as carpet. I have an ivory/cream colored leather sofa. The chairs in the room are eggplant/green patterned. The window treatments are eggplant and cream sheers draped over the rods. Most of the wood in the room/fireplace is medium oak and the trim throughout the entire house is white. I thought I would like an eggplant carpet because it is darker (since we have kids), but my husband likes Berber which doesn't come in eggplant anywhere that I've looked. Mostly, I want to lighten and brighten the room. Any suggestions? I know one time I used a web site that allowed you to "preview" different colors of carpet with your color furniture, etc., but I cannot seem to find it anymore. Does anyone know of anything like this?
