Using a 1 litre pot of MIS-TINT and a roller, we don't think there will be enough paint to complete a much needed second coat on the small room we are painting. Besides doing crazy things with sponges, what are the things that we could do to make that last bit go the full second coat and cover the patchiness of only one coat. Do we thin and cover the darker coat with a lighter one, or is there a technique of covering roller patches (like "spot rollering" or is this a recipe for disaster?).

Hey Man, what you need is more paint. You can thin it a little to make it go a little further, but, if you want good coverage without the light spots you will need more paint, unless of course you almost have enough but just need that tad bit more to finish. I never thin paint to stretch it, I thin it a little sometimes for ease of brushing or rolling, but not to stretch it out.

Spot rolling light areas very seldom ever works.
