We are planning to lay a new wood floor on the main floor of our house. It sits on a partial basement. My problem is that the entry way is concrete (8' x 2') and from there the rest of the floor is on plywood. I really don't want to put a subfloor through the entire house (1000 sf will be wood) just because of the entry way. Can I grind the concrete down 3/4" for subfloor or is there a better option?
