I have an outdoor brass faucet under my kitchen window which is solderd on to the pipe coming out of the wall. The faucet is leaking because its handle is loose and just turns around and around. Any advice on how to fix this myself. I had the same problem fixed by a plumber two years ago. He replaced the old faucet with the same solderd on faucet. I would prefer a screw-on faucet, unless I could somehow just tighten the handle to stop it from leaking.
Appreciate any advice.

Have a plumber come out one last time and solder on a 1/2" female pipe threaded adapter ( or 3/4", if your pipe is 3/4").
Then you can have a screw-in outdoor faucet (aka hose bibb) set up that you can easily replace yourself the next time. All that you have to do to change it is to wrap 2-3 flat turns of teflon tape clockwise only on the male threads of the hose bibb and tighten it in.

Good luck!
