Per 1/21/02 diy newsletter, it is recommended after painting ceiling to mask ceiling edges before painting adjoining wall edges. Is this necessary if both are the same color?

If so can you explain why?

Thanks.

Im not sure who writes these articles but it seems that they need a week or so on site to brush up on their decorating knowledge..
Always paint your ceilings first overlapping an inch or two onto the walls....Then using a two inch brush, cut in your wall colour to the ceiling line and every where a roller cannot get too..corners,skirting line, window reveals etc..If you are going to use masking tape on new emulstion/latex,be prepared to do some serious touching up as 9 times out of ten it will pull some paint off and leave a mess of your previously finished work..
(In your case there is no need to cut in the wall colour as it is the same as the ceiling)
