Is there anything that can be applied to hardwood floors and stairs to reduce the noise level? The stairs are really bad...great looking, just loud. It looks like there have been several attempts to nail down the stairs to the risers (House was built in 1909). One of the previous owners did a great job of removing all the years of paint from all of the woodwork in the house, including the stairs. Could the paint remover shrink the wood so that there is no longer a nice tight fit? I think that most of the noise is due to the nails in the stairs ... they're recessed so I can't remove and replace them. My floors have been patched in some spots (Badly in some cases) and I think that that causes most of the noise here. Just wondering if there was something I could pour on or something. I am planning on redoing all the floors but not for a few years. Something in the mean time? (It's hard to sneak in drunk)

REDDOG:rolleyes:
