Can anyone give me some general tips regarding how to check whether a humidifier is working correctly? It is a Aprilaire 440, I have changed the water panel, checked that there is power to the humidistat, the vent is on (open), made sure that the water valve is feeding the humidifier. No water seems to exit out of the tube from the humidifier. Can there be a problem with the selenoid? How can this be checked? Any comments would be appreciated.

be sure that power is applied to the solenoid valve, if water does not flow through the valve, replace it.
