I plan on putting laminate flooring on a concrete floo covered presently with carpet. I want to do it myself, and would like to use the glueless type. I have found two brands in my area, Armstrong selflock and Alloc. What are pros and cons of both or new suggestions for new brands?

Compare apples to apples when comparing quality of construction, traffic rating, warranties, and price. Go to www.alloc.com and www.armstrong.com to find more info and to contact the manufacturers.

Find one that has great color and pattern for YOUR HOME! Then check out the "rest of the story" as Paul Harvey sez. Both brands that you have under consideration are good ones. Alloc has two different materials so compare by product group name, "Original" or "Home". Be sure not to mix type numbers or part number series of Armstrong, they have product made in 3 different countries and the joints don't interchange. This is a caution not a condemnation.
