Hi
I found out the flooring under my carpet is plywood. I actually sanded a smll amount by hand to see what it looked like. It was ok. I've seen pics where people have painted plywood planks I really liked it. Can I do this? Would I have to install other flooring over this plywood floor? Is a sander to awkward and heavy for me to handle myelf?
Thanks

Your flooring is probably 3/4" plywood subflooring with 5/8" plywood flooring.
Plywood has a very thin veneer. You will have to sink all nails, and very lightly sand it.
A rented commercial sander just takes a little practice.
You can prime and paint it, including a wood plank pattern, but you're asking for a LOT of paint maintenance.
I would give that some thought.
Good luck!
