Hello: cschroth1

The direct answers to your first 3 questions is: NO! & NO! & NO!

Dryer vent ducting and the entire venting system should be cleaned out and inspected, at least every 2 years, as part of the normal maintenance process.

The ducting should be replaced, if needed, at this time. The dryer does not produce enough heat to become dangerous to the plastic ducting material. Nor is there any danger of fire, etc.

Some manufacturers recommend solid metal tubing and or aluminum tubing. In my opinion, it's BULL CHIPS. However, do as you deem necessary and feel comfortable with.

What I do recommend is an entire cleaning of the inside cabinet of the dryer and the entire venting system every two years. At this time, inspect all the parts and belt, replace any parts that appear worn out.

Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair proceedures and instructions, pictorials and schematics, which may be available online.

An excellent source for orginal replacement parts is your local retail appliance parts store. Parts dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
