When my heat shuts off, the outside unit that houses the motor and fan has a loud buzzing/humming sound that won't shut off unless I shut off the outside breakers. I have a GE heat pump. Any idea on what this may be? I want some opinions before I call for service.

Sounds like a Transformer hum. It happens alot to older systems. Yours is older, cause GE sold out to Trane over 10yrs ago. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
