My heater kicks on, but without the fan. I have to turn thermostat to "on" position for fan in order to blow heat. The contactor that operates the air conditioning was replaced a few months ago. Is there a separate contactor for heat? Does anyone think thta this may be the problem? If not, what else could it be? Thanks in advance for your help.

Sounds like you have straight electric heat...If so, in the air handler has a time delay relay that turns on the fan in heat mode with the strip heaters and a separate fan relay for a/c and fan 'on'
