I am new to installing tile. I am installing tile in a bathroom that I need to add backer board and then tile. The tile in the bathroom will butt up against the carpet from the other room. Since the tile will be 3/4" heigher than the carpet, how do you make this transition?
Do you leave the backer board an inch or so back from the carpet and install a composite or wood transition piece? Or install the backer board all the way upto the carpet? Do you install the transition piece before the tile?
Thanks
Andre
