Ladyfriend has an warped solid Fir door that is warped about 3/16 of an inch in the lower half. I checked this with a string. The lower part lets in cold air and I will boost the weatherstrip, but the real question is does anyone know how to straighten a door without causing inconvenience to the homeowner?

The only easy way to try to straiten a warped door is to install a "stiff back", usually a piece of angle iron bolted to or thru the door but can sometimes be a piece of hardwood. This, of course, may be unsightly if the door is in a prominent location on the house. The simple thing to do is to adjust the door stop and weather stripping to conform to the door shape and let it be. 3/16" is not really significant and should be easy to overcome. Good Luck!

Thanks for the speedy reply. It's hardly noticable now, I'll find out how much "Unsightly" she'll go for. --Al
