I was wondering if anybody could send me some advice on my questions. I wanted to know if I went with a vinyl tile in my kitchen that there would continually be dirt and crud in the joints. and second I heard that vinyl tiles expand and contract before they are laid, is this a concern once they're in place? I guess I would like to know which is better, tiles or the big sheets. to me it looks like tile is much easier but that usually means a poor product. thank you!

A properly installed tile floor will not have dirty joints.

For resilient tile and resilient sheet flooring, subfloor preparation is everything.

Which is better ? I like the resilient sheet of high grade simply because its a solid sheet ... no waters or moisture can get through it.

Installation is more difficult though.

No matter what you install, you want the manufacturers installation recommendations ... follow them to the letter and you will be fine.
