I have a GE dishwasher model GSD1200X66 that will not drain. Recently it started out only draining about half of the water, now it will not drain any of the water. I have looked on the GE parts web page and I am guessing it would be either (using their part description) valve water inlet or valve and check asm. My assumption is from reading other posts on this web site. I first tried disconnecting the drain hose and flushing it out, but that has not helped. Any help would really be appreciated.

Hi,
Water valve inlet is for filling only....not draining :)
Not draining possible trouble makers:
- bad drain solenoid
- clogged/distorted valve/check assy
- clogged/distorted check valve
- clogged drain hose
- clogged sump entrance
- bad motor and pump assy
- drain plug not removed on a newly installed disposor
- clogged drain hose coupler
Lots of how d/w's work/drain info linked below....

on the left front corner of the inside you will see a small plastic piece that looks loike an upside down cup - it it held in place with 1 screw, under it is a float. this float determine water level and may have become covered with residue from food - that will make it heavier and you dishwasher will think it is empty of water when you take out the 1 screw remove plastic cup, under it will be a smaller cup, just lift it out only gravity and the larger cup holds it in place, if it is dirty clean very well and re-install.
