I have a gas Magic Chef stove. For years 2 of the 4 burners (Leftsided) have often been unable to ignite. Can light them with a match but normal electric starters don't seem to always work. Occassionally after celaning they seem to work but not always. Once had a repairman in to fix problem and it worked for awhile but now is acting up again. I beleive he replaced some part - wasn't a cleaning issue. Any suggestions??
Thanks

Hello: bvgas
There are several types of burners and several types of ignitions. Not always possible to determine which type in a text only format like this, but I'll attempt to explain some possibilities.
There are ignition ports {Holes} going up the side of the burner head. The holes should be facing the ignition source, if the sparkers are located between the 2 burners.
The ignition holes must be clreared of any debris and unrestricted to ignite the burner. They must face the ignition source also.
If the burners are the round type and made of aluminum, they can rotate slightly on the burner plate. The nut at the base of the burner needs to be tightened up once the burner head is truned and facing the ignition source.
The air shutters on some burners need adjusting. the shutters are located on the ends of the burner tubes. Correct adjustment is often times critical but basically, the burner flames cannot have any yellow tips.
There are a few more remote possibilities which are rather difficult to explain, once again, do to a text only format. Sorry.
Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem solving methods, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair proceedures and instructions, pictorials and schematics, which may be available online.
An excellent source for orginal replacement parts is your local retail appliance parts store. Appliance parts dealers test and carry replacement parts for all appliances. Parts dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
