View Full Version : reinstall kenmore dryer door

I took off the door to my kenmore gas model 11079912990 dryer to clean lint. Now I can't get
the door back on. I have tried to slide the door back into the metal latches, but now I have
pushed the left latch out/off the spring, and it won't spring back into place.
Please help!

Hello Susangar and Welcome to our Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances forum.

I am attempting to invision what door your referring to.
The actual front clothes loading door or the burner compartment access door?

My assumption would be the burner compartment access door since you mentioned cleaning lint. If this is correct, the most difficult one to install is those with one securing screw at the base. these types are so difficult at times, one would want to say...$#@#$$%...the door and leave it off forever....:)

However, I do not know of any with springs? But if the type mentioned above is the one your dealing with, put the entire door inside the access and hook the top, then attempt to hold the bottom in place while attempting to screw the entire contraption into place.

If the engineers whom designed this type burner compartment access door worked for me...I would say...

 .......OFF WITH THEIR HEADS, NOW.....:D

In fact, the door in question is the door you load the clothes through. The
latches I guess would rather be called metal hinges. I have been through
the mill and can not, on principle, call for repair! Please tell me how to
put it back on its hinges.
