We're remodeling my kitchen and intersted in single gas wall oven. Can you mount this under a counter top? If so, do we need to buy some kind of insulation? Thank you.

Hello Remhelper and Welcome to our Do It Yourself Web Site and my Gas Appliances forum.

Insulation will not be required but air space around the unit and air intake space into the cabinet will be necessary when the built in oven unit is installed inside the cabinet.

The design, of built-in type ovens, allows for air space around the unit. Which means the outside decorative frame of the oven is several inches larger then the actual outer size of the oven.

The outer frame is also part of the mounting support. There will be most likely 4 to 6 screws needing to be installed through the outer frame, which secure the oven into the cabinet space.

Once installed into the cabinet, no additional insulation is required. However, air intake into the cabinet space is required. The air that enters the cabinet, is then drawn into the ovens intake vents or slots to supply air to support combustion.

Check with your local city code department. Codes vary between states and within areas.
