Is there anywhere on the web where it shows how to get the top off and generally disassemble my Kenmore gas clothes dryer? I want to look at and clean the motor. It hums like frozen bearings or idler. In other words the motor won't turn. If you keep trying an overload must open. You get a smell like something hot. Then when it cools down the motor will try again but not turn. It was doing this the other day and I took off the lower panel on the front and did what cleaning I could. Then the dryer worked for several days but now is doing the same thing again.

Thanks for the help. I'll check out that site. I tore it apart without too much damage and gave it a good cleaning. It seems to be working okay now. It had a lot of lint in the motor.

Hi,
It is a good idea to maybe once every 3-5 years to give the dryer a good cleaning out and vacuum out any lint inside.

A plugged up motor can over heat and damage the motor!!
Happy Holidays :)
