I just bought a house that has a GE forced air furnace with cooling unit.
The label on the outside says PGE10A30D075A-1 and the serial number is 8495H49964.
The furnace and the air conditioner turn on. If I go outside, I can hear the motor working,
but inside the house, no air at all comes through the vents. I also notice that even when
the switch was turned to off, the motor outside still was "motoring" (for lack of a better
word) Hot or cold air does come out this little vent on the unit outside, it just doesn't get
sucked into the house, is there any trick, could it be something as simple as the switch. I
assume there is some kind of fan that is supposed tho blow the air into the house rather
than outside through the little vent.

Thanks for any help you can provide

Hello DiamondGirl and Welcome to the Heating and Cooling Appliance forum and our Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

The magic word here is JUST. If JUST means very recently, my suggestion would be to contact any home buyers protection insurance that applies.

If there isn't any appliance or generalized insurance policy, contact the realtor the house was purchased through. Then COMPLAIN! like all H***......COMPLAINING loudly works....:D

The theory is you purchased a house with the implied agreement that all appliances were to be in working order. If the heating and air conditioning unit isn't working correctly...it simply isn't working at all. The costs for repairs should not be your burden.

Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair proceedures and instructions, pictorials and schematics, which may be available online.

Unfortunately that will not work, the house is somewhat of a fixer
upper and it was bought with the understanding that it is as is.
So if someone could please help me with the troubleshooting
before I call someone to look at it.
