For the lack of finding a more explicit forum I chose to come here and try to get an answer and some ideas.

My home is 36 years old, brick vaneer, with single pane aluminum windows and lately they have began to sweat terribly on cold days and nights. I am aware of the factors ie. humidity that will make windows sweat and also I have renewed all of the caulking around the outside of the window frames. I installed weather stripping at the bottom edges of the window, but there is no way to reseal the sides of the sliding window or at it's mating to the stationary window.

Still I am getting terrible sweating and puddles at the sill at times.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Condensation is usually a sign that the humidity level is to high in your home. A dehumidifier tends to help reduce the problem. Running exhaust fans when cooking and showering also help. These fans need to run at least 30 minutes after you finish showering or cooking. Condensation can also be caused by warm humid air collecting on a cold surface, like on the glass of your ice tea. If the puddles appear to be in the areas which you say that you can not seal, then this could be the possible explanation. The seals in this area have more than likely deteriorated. Try an experiment to see if sealing the area with a piece of tape minimizes the problem. Use painter's tape as masking tape can be a problem to remove once it dries out.

Thanks so much for the reply Twelvepole, I will acquire some painters tape and give your suggestion a try. Honestly, I've about run out of ideas hense my coming to the forum for some help from the pro's. There's not much I can't fix, but this one has continued to beleaguer me.

Thanks again
