I'm in the process of laying down a brick walkway in my backyard. Short of going to a homecenter and buying tons of brick...any suggestions on where to get construction waste?

In other words, I'm looking for old, used bricks that construction workers don't want.

I guess I could go to the local dump and ask the people there if and when construction people drop off their waste.

Any other suggestions?

The only suggestion that I can think of is to make your desires known with want ads and flyers posted in stores. If you're willing to pay ten cents on the dollar of the valuation offer a 10% finders fee for a source to free semi clean used brick. Your competitors are local construction material recyclers and other individuals with the same desire.

Locate a demolition crew. We did and hauled hundreds of bricks from a sight for free. It saved the demolition crew from having to haul the debris off. We cleaned the bricks with a hammer and wire brush and their as good as new, (with a somewhat rustic look on some).
