Some paint seems to have gotten on to a light green slate tabletop I have. I used some nail polish remover to try and get it off. Some of the paint came off but now the slate seems lighter and discolored in that area. Is there any way to remove the rest of the paint and fix the discolored area?
Thanks.

After removing the paint I think it will be necessary to strip the sealer, clean the stone, polish or hone, then reseal. For more information and products goto http://www.natural-stone.com or http://stonecaretechniques.com/
If you want an overview of possibilities: acetone in the nail polish remover would remove paint and existing stone sealer. In turn that would account for some of the color change. Minor bleaching of the stone may have occurred also. If an acetone free nail polish remover was used the surface may be hazed (sealer semi dissolved and smeared or a solvent absorbed by the stone) or the stone may be etched.
