I am considering putting down a brick floor in my wine cellar. I was in Cumberland, VA, at an old restored train station where the waiting platforms were completely redone with brick that was seemingly held together with nothing more than sand brushed between the individual bricks. No sign of any type of grout. It was simple and beautiful. Has anyone ever heard of laying brick floors like this? The floor size I will be laying will only be 7X10 feet. Thanks for any advice. Larry

The technique is very common. Information on laying bricks this way, along with other basic masonry how tos, exists here: http://www.bhglive.com/homeimp/masonry.html
