Can you repair a hairline crack near the jet in a marble bathtub?

It can be repaired, but it may crack again, and don't expect a guarantee against failure. Although I have never repaired a bath tub the problem of cracking, radial or otherwise, is not that uncommon around port outlets (regardless of the material used or wether it's a bath tub or spa). Occasionally I work for a friend (a swimming pool and solar contractor). Typically he tries to avoid making port crack repairs; never guarantees against failure, and sometimes recommends disabling the port.
