Does anyone know how to fix a cinder block wall? Specifically, the vertical joints have pulled apart slightly causing the mortar to loosen. The house was built in 1959 and I'm not sure what the code requirements were re: re-bar. In addition, the wall has pilasters that have some loose blocks at the top. These blocks had mortar loosen up horizontally. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Boogie

Search for the post FAQ /newbie resourse within this forum. A few block patching techniques are addressed. For the sheered mortar and loose blocks on the pilasters it would be wise to have them inspected by a mason or masonry contractor, and take things from there.
