I went to the website mentioned in the free plans
thread and the floating deck looks interestning
and reasonably straightforward, inexpensive and
quick for a DIY.
Has anyone, not already mentioned on their website, used this? Are there any pitfalls? What happens if the ground slants after 12 months?

I don't know if we are talking about the same type of floating deck, but I have built many of them. Never a problem. If for some reason, you get a sinking spot, just shim it up.

I built one a couple years ago for my mothers house. We completed a 10x20 in less than 2 days. Everything went together really fast. It looks just as good today as it did when we finished it.
