Will I damage my tv if I unplug the pictube socket and plug it back on with the tv power on?
Is it also ok to turn the tv power on with the pictube socket disconnected. I am talking about the neck board that has a socket on it that plugs onto the pictube.

Good Morning, David:
Sorry for the delay. Our webmaster was having brain farts and the system didn't work. They use a government ethic that says,
"If it works, keep fixing it until it fails!" LOL!
I can't imagine why anyone would want to take the plug off a picture tube when it is under power...but
1) the plug is pretty well insulated so it is possible
2) the only serious voltage is on the focus pin which is usually about 8000 volts. Look for a large black wire and stay away from it.
3)If you ask for it, I can provide the address for Blue Cross and Blue Shield (and the telephone number).
Talk to Big Mike about a major medical plan.
Smokey ;)
