Heat pumps are great - when they work!
Have spent $3,000 over last 24 months on repairs, some needless.
Main problem is furnace has no diagnostics.
Book says - if pressure point a is low...
if pressaure at point b is high ... if 24 volt transfirmer has low voltage... if temperature is at ... if water flow rate is...
However, no way to measure these, or even know where to take measurements.
Repair people seem to know little or will not tell. Live in country, so $100 bill just to drive here. Most repairmen just come in and say: replace compressor (done last year), replace capacitor, its a well pump problem, etc. etc.
Many of these "cures" seem arbitrary, and my problems keep recurring.
Have installed temp gages; thinking about pressure gages.
Anyone in similar situation and want to share tips?
Dan

www.fhp-mfg.com (http://www.fhp-mfg.com) this site is a manufacturer of heat pumps. Ask your question there. I ran across about 100 Open loop Geothermal Heat Pumps. Some good and some not so good. The ones I needed help with, got my answer there. Be very specific with your problem.
