Model Number 31GE660 About two years old. The set loses reception. If you tap it it comes back sometimes. If you wiggle the Cable tv Cable it will some times come back. I have tried other TVs on the cable and they work fine. I even replaced the cable but I still have the same problem. The set works fine then goes to snow or makes really loud buzzing noises. if you touch the cable or RCA jacks in the back you can usually cause the problem.

What you might try is removing the back of the set and check the cable connection between the back and the tuner (inside the set).
GE is famous for bad solder connections.
I have a feeling this problem can be fixed with a little 60-40 electronic solder and a low heat soldering iron.

Yes, Smokey is correct. After removing the cover of the T.V. you will see a metal box soldered to the circuit board. This box is the one that has a connector on it for connection to the coax cable.
This metal box has many solder connections which eventually crack causing various video problems.
All that is needed is some good lighting and some re-soldering at all of these connections....approx 17 ground connections.
Good luck.
